'Top of the pops' 1970's
The very popular BBC TV show
Top of the Pops began playing
music videos in the late 1970 and
occasionally experimented with scopitones. Even though demand for the scopitone was declining.
Top of the pops were fusy with videos and only aired the best.
They knew a good video would increase a song's sales as viewers hoped to see it again the following week so they had a constant audience and is a reason to why the show managed to run for 30 years plus.
